Quick answer. With meet-and-greet, your driver waits in the public arrival hall of your terminal holding a sign with your name, after you exit customs. With kerbside pickup, you walk to the car pickup area and the driver collects you there. Your driver confirms the exact meeting spot on WhatsApp before you land.

Changi Airport is big, and after a long flight the last thing you want is to wander the arrival hall looking for your car. Knowing where your driver will be saves a lot of stress.

This guide explains how pickup works at each terminal. Layouts and signage do change, especially during works, so your driver will always confirm the exact spot on WhatsApp.

Meet-and-greet vs kerbside pickup: the difference

There are two ways a private driver can collect you.

Meet-and-greet

Your driver waits inside the public arrival hall, just outside the exit from baggage claim and customs. They hold a sign with your name on it. They help with your bags and walk you to the car.

This is the easiest option for first-time visitors, families, elderly travellers and anyone with a lot of luggage. It is our standard for airport arrivals.

Kerbside pickup

You walk out to the car pickup area yourself. You message the driver when you are ready, and the car pulls up to collect you.

This can suit frequent travellers who know the airport well and are travelling light. It needs good phone signal and a clear message on which door or pillar you are at.

Terminal 1 (and Jewel) meeting points

At Terminal 1, after baggage claim and customs, you exit into the public arrival hall. With meet-and-greet, your driver waits here with your name sign.

Jewel Changi Airport is connected to Terminal 1 by walkway. Many travellers want to see the Rain Vortex before leaving. If that is your plan, tell your driver. The usual approach is to meet at the T1 arrival hall first, store bags in the car or keep them with you, and then visit Jewel.

Remember that your free waiting time is counted from landing. A long stop at Jewel may run past it, so let us know in advance and we can plan around it.

Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 meeting points

Terminals 2 and 3 work the same way as Terminal 1. After customs, you walk out into the public arrival hall.

Your driver will be waiting outside the arrival exit with your name sign. If your terminal has more than one arrival exit, the driver will tell you which one to use, based on your flight’s belt.

Terminal 2 has been through major upgrade works in recent years. Some routes and doors may differ from older guides online, which is one reason we confirm the meeting point on the day.

The Skytrain links Terminals 1, 2 and 3 airside and landside. If you arrive at one terminal but need to be at another, check with your driver before moving.

Terminal 4 meeting point

Terminal 4 is a separate building, set apart from the other three terminals. It is not linked by Skytrain. A shuttle bus runs between Terminal 4 and Terminal 2.

At Terminal 4, your driver meets you in the arrival hall after customs, in the same way as the other terminals. Because T4 is separate, make sure your booking shows the right terminal. Airlines sometimes move between terminals, so check your latest e-ticket or the Changi Airport website.

Which terminal is my flight using?

Your airline sets the terminal, and it can change. To check:

  • Look at your e-ticket or boarding pass.
  • Check your airline’s app.
  • Use the flight search on the Changi Airport website or app.

If you are unsure, just send us your flight number. We track the flight and confirm the terminal.

What if your flight is early, late or you cannot find the driver

Your flight is early

We monitor your flight, so the driver plans around the actual landing time, not the scheduled one. If you land early, the driver aims to be there when you come out.

Your flight is late

A delay does not cancel your booking. The driver adjusts to the new landing time.

You cannot find the driver

Do not leave the arrival hall. Instead:

  1. Turn on your phone and connect to Changi’s free Wi-Fi.
  2. WhatsApp your driver or Mark on +65 8267 3149.
  3. Tell us the arrival exit number, belt number or a landmark nearby.
  4. Stay where you are, and the driver will come to you.

Most mix-ups happen when passengers exit to the wrong side or head straight for the taxi queue. Staying put is always the fastest fix.

Your bags are delayed

If your luggage does not come out, you may need to file a report at the baggage services counter. Message your driver so they know you are still inside.

How long free waiting usually lasts

Different operators have different policies. Ours is clear.

Booking type Complimentary waiting
Airport arrivals 60 minutes from landing
Airport departures 15 minutes
Local transfers 15 minutes

Sixty minutes on arrival covers most immigration and baggage waits. On very busy evenings, queues can run long, so message us if you think you will need more time.

There is a midnight surcharge of $15 for pickups between 11pm and 7am. Changi is a 24-hour airport, and we take bookings 24/7, 365 days a year.

Departures: where your driver drops you

Going the other way is simpler. Every terminal has a departure drop-off kerb on the upper level, outside the check-in halls.

Your driver drops you at the door closest to your airline’s check-in row where possible. If you are not sure which terminal your airline uses, send us your flight number and we will check.

Departures include 15 minutes of complimentary waiting at your pickup point. Please be ready at the agreed time, as a late start eats into your check-in buffer.

For a morning flight, allow for school and office traffic on the expressways. For flights after midnight, there is a $15 midnight surcharge between 11pm and 7am.

Travelling with lots of luggage, a wheelchair or a large group

Some arrivals need a bit more planning.

  • Lots of luggage: count every bag, including golf bags, prams and boxes. We match the car to your bags, not just your passenger count.
  • Wheelchair users: tell us in advance. Airlines can arrange wheelchair assistance through the airport, and your driver can meet you and the assistance staff in the arrival hall.
  • Groups arriving on the same flight: a 13-seater minibus or coach keeps everyone together. Our larger vehicles take up to 23, 45 or 49 passengers.
  • Groups arriving on different flights: we can arrange separate pickups, or one larger vehicle timed for the last arrival. Tell us what suits you.

If anyone in your party needs extra help, mention it when you book. Small details make a big difference at the end of a long flight.

Which car to book for your arrival

Pick by passengers and bags, not just by headcount.

  • Toyota Alphard or Vellfire: up to 6 passengers and 5 large bags. Arrivals from $85.
  • Mercedes E-Class: up to 4 passengers, best for 3, with 2 bags. Arrivals $80.
  • Mercedes V-Class: up to 7 passengers, best for 5, with 5 bags. Arrivals $95.
  • 13-seater minibus: for groups with a lot of luggage. Arrivals $100.

Fares are fixed and include tolls and parking. Full details are on our Changi Airport transfer page.
