Changi Airport to Johor Bahru, direct

Your chauffeur meets you at Changi arrivals with a name sign and helps with your luggage. You drive west across Singapore to the Woodlands or Tuas checkpoint. At the Singapore side, each passenger presents their passport to leave Singapore. You then cross to the Malaysian checkpoint and present your passport again to enter Malaysia. After immigration, the driver takes you straight to your Johor Bahru address. Your luggage stays in the car throughout.

Woodlands is usually the better route for JB city centre, JB Sentral and the hotels and malls near the Causeway. Tuas tends to suit Iskandar Puteri, Legoland and the western side of Johor. From Changi, both involve a cross-island drive. We look at your JB address and the time you land, and suggest the checkpoint that makes most sense. On busy days, we may suggest the less congested crossing. Tell us if you have a preference and we will follow it.

Changi to the Woodlands checkpoint is often 30 to 40 minutes on clear roads, and the drive from the Malaysian side into JB city is short. The real variable is checkpoint queues. Late-night and mid-morning weekday crossings are often quicker, while Friday evenings, weekends and holiday periods can add a long wait. All timings are approximate and traffic-dependent. If you land at a busy time, plan for a longer trip.

Each passenger needs their own passport, valid for the trip, and should check any Malaysian entry requirements for their nationality before flying. Keep passports in the cabin with you rather than in your luggage, because you will show them at both checkpoints. The driver takes care of the vehicle's cross-border permits. If you are travelling with children, make sure each child also has their own passport. A booster or infant seat can be fitted for the drive.
